国际关系学院经济金融学院的前身是1984年设立的国际经济系。在国际经济系多年建设发展的基础上，2021年1月正式成立经济金融学院。
经济金融学院秉承我校优良传统，自觉服务国家经济社会发展需要，坚持走内涵发展、特色发展的学科专业建设之路。1984年开设国际经济专业，这是改革开放以来全国高校中较早开设的“外语+专业”复合的国际经贸类专业之一；此后，根据教育部1998年颁布的《普通高等学校本科专业目录》，专业名称正式调整为国际经济与贸易专业。随着改革开放不断深入，进入21世纪以来，我校经济学人才培养层次从本科教育逐步向研究生教育延伸。2003年取得世界经济专业硕士学位授予权；2011年取得理论经济学一级学科硕士学位授予权，形成了较为完善的学科专业体系。
目前，经济金融学院本科生教育设有国际经济与贸易专业，该专业2009年被教育部评定为第四批高等学校特色专业建设点、2020年被批准为国家级一流本科专业建设点。研究生教育在理论经济学一级学科下设有政治经济学、西方经济学、世界经济等二级学科硕士点。
“经世济民，计利天下”。经济金融学院致力于培养系统掌握现代经济学理论知识，具有强烈家国情怀、宽广国际视野、深厚人文素质、卓越创新能力、高度社会责任感的高素质复合型涉外经贸人才。四十年来，经济金融学院始终坚持“以学生为中心”的办学理念，尊重学生多元化、个性化发展要求，坚持人才精细化培养，不断创新人才培养模式，培养了一大批我国经济社会发展所亟需的栋梁、精英之才，为我国社会主义现代化建设做出了重要贡献，同时也为学校赢得了良好的社会声誉。
经济金融学院高度重视师资队伍建设，拥有一支结构合理、素质过硬、爱岗敬业的高水平专业师资队伍。学院现有专任教师16名。其中，教授、副教授高级职称教师占比56.25%；拥有博士学位教师占比93.75%；超过一半教师具有海外留学或访学经历。高水平的师资队伍为学科专业建设、人才培养提供了坚实支撑。

The School of Economics and Finance at the University of International Relations was originally established as the Department of International Economics in 1984. After years of development, it officially became a school in its own right in January 2021.
The School of Economics and Finance upholds the university's fine traditions, consciously serving the needs of national economic and social development, and adheres to a path of discipline and major construction that focuses on connotation and characteristic development. The international economics program, launched in 1984, was one of the earliest "foreign language + major" programs in international trade offered by universities nationwide since the reform and opening-up. Following the Ministry of Education's 1998 "Catalogue of Undergraduate Specialties for General Colleges and Universities," the program was officially renamed International Economics and Trade. As the reform and opening-up deepened and entered the 21st century, our university gradually extended its economics talent training from undergraduate to graduate education. In 2003, it obtained the right to confer master's degrees in World Economics; in 2011, it gained the right to grant master's degrees in Theoretical Economics, forming a relatively complete disciplinary system.
At present, undergraduate education in the School of Economics and Finance includes the International Economics and Trade program, which was designated as a fourth batch of specialties with distinctive features by the Ministry of Education in 2009 and approved as a national first-class undergraduate program construction pilot `in 2020. Graduate education offers master's programs in sub-disciplines such as Political Economy, Western Economics, and World Economics under the primary discipline of Theoretical Economics.

The School of Economics and Finance is committed to cultivating high-quality, complex foreign economic and trade talents who systematically master modern economic theory, possess a strong sense of national mission, broad international perspectives, profound humanistic qualities, exceptional innovative capabilities, and a high sense of social responsibility. For forty years, the school has always adhered to the student-centered educational philosophy, respected the diverse and individualized development needs of students, insisted on refined talent training, continuously innovated talent training models, and cultivated a large number of pillars and elite talents urgently needed for China's economic and social development. This has made significant contributions to China's socialist modernization drive and also earned the university a good social reputation.
The School of Economics and Finance places great emphasis on faculty development, boasting a high-level professional faculty stuff with a reasonable structure, excellent quality, and dedication to their jobs. The school currently has 16 full-time teachers, including 56.25% with senior titles such as professor or associate professor, and 93.75% holding doctoral degrees; more than half have overseas study or visiting experiences. This high-level faculty stuff provides solid support for discipline construction and talent training.
On the new journey of building a strong country and national rejuvenation, the School of Economics and Finance actively serves the strategic needs of the nation, firmly focusing on high-quality development in discipline construction and talent training, cultivating more high-quality talents in economics and trade needed for China's socialist modernization.
